5 DE NOVEMBRO DIA DO RADIOAMADOR

DIA DO RADIOAMADOR

                                        SALVE O DIA DO RADIOAMADOR!

Hard-Core-DX Digest, Vol 263, Issue 3

** OKLAHOMA. 27184.52 AM, Nov 2 at 2013, Enid CB pirate, S9+20/25, JBM
but // 105.5, usual inexplicable relay of K288FX translator of
``Kay-Love``, KYLV 88.9 OKC. Not another circa 27225 this time (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.003+, Nov 2 at 2258, VOT not off the air, IS at
S9+30/35 into UTwente. 2300 TS and s/on as if 1330 on 13635.
Something`s always awry at Ankara. Annoying continuous hrumble and
CCCCCCI from PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi, East Turkistan, standard
denunciation. 2301 into olds. 2314 music. 2318 ``with-you-every-hour``
promo. 2323 `The Energy Agenda` with statistix about sea temperatures
rising, effects on hydro power. 2329 music. 2334 multi-lingual ID
filler reel. 2336 music. 2340 `Turkey`s Geomarked Products`, hard to
understand topic. 2342 music. 2346 ``always-by-your-side promo. 2347

** U K Q O B G A N I. 11253 USB, Nov 2 at 0635, VOLMET by
British-accented YL voice, bot? Strange mixture of metric and English
units to be understood but not always specified, one group applied to
``Midlands``. S5 vs noise level of S3. EiBi shows RAF Volmet Military

** U S A. 26110 NBFM, Nov 2 at 1533, no signal from KMK282, TV
auxiliary which I routinely tune for almost daily at random times,
first chance to check once I receive this from Terry Krueger, NW FL:
``KOVR Sacramento CA coming in well from 1504Z tune in with local
morning news/weather patter``. Not heard here for months and still
not, off already and/or I`m too close for F2 rather than sporadic E

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2267 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday November 2 at 0300 on WTWW 5085, after T2P, Ancient Word
Radio and ID; followed 0329 by some music until 0331*. From next week:
0400

Also confirmed Saturday November 2 at 1830 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975,
S7/S9 into UTwente.

Lots of storming today and much-needed heavy rain, so not much
monitoring either direct or online.

Also confirmed Saturday November 2 at 1943 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
S9+17 into nearby SDR, about 5 minutes into so started circa 1938.

Hard-Core-DX Digest, Vol 262, Issue 31

Hard-Core-DX Digest, Vol 262, Issue 31

** JAPAN. 7380, Oct 29 at 0705, Japanese S9+20/30 direct. NHK from
Yamata 0700-0900 for S America: a very strange transmission at 4-6 am
local in Brasil, Argentina, Uruguay, even earlier elsewhere. Are JJ
ethnix typically early-risers? OTOH, hits Hawai`i on the way at only
9-11 pm local (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 11529.9, Oct 29 at 2214, JBA carrier, presumably
pirate Hikari FM on signature offset (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11930, Oct 29 at 0655, RRI English signing off, S6/S8
direct. Per EiBi, RRI is the only station foolish enough to choose
this Cuban jammer frequency! None heard now, but when capable, often
runs all night despite Mart? on here only in daytime. 0630-0700 only,
Galbeni to W Europe, so also thisaway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. Checking REE program info via the WOR Hitlist, we see that
there are no English podcasts since 22 Oct = UT Mon Oct 21 at 2200;
yet the ``hoy`` Tuesday Oct 29 program alleges there is/was English at
0000 &? 0400 local = 2300 & 0300 UT - when no SW frequencies were on
air! Altho some blackouts had occurred, there were other signals
audible on the bands around 2300. There is a certain disconnect among
the program producers, the SW operators, and the websiters.

Tue Oct 29 at 1620, into UTwente, bigsigs in Spanish on 12030 and
17755, ME and Africa beams which start at 1600 M-F. 9690 & 17715 for
N&S America start at 1900 weekdays. Confirmed at 1917 into UTwente,
JBA direct, 17715 slightly better than 9690, which is really too low
for a daypath at this hour: too drastic a drop from 18 to 10 MHz.
UTwente also hears 17755 poorly, not direct. But shall there really be
any token English at 2300 M/W/F? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [non]. 5960.003-, Oct 29 at 2259, Chinese music with
interruptions, 2300 timesignal and Mandarin announcement, S9/+15 into
UTwente: much like yesterday, no trace of VOT English to us (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2266 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday October
29 at 0330 on 7780, S9+10/15 into Louisiana SDR.

Also confirmed Tuesday October 29 at 1300 and AGAIN new at 1400 on
WRMI 9955, S5/S8 JBA direct, but at 1428 into Georgia SDR, S9+35!

Also confirmed Tuesday October 29 at 2100 on IRRS SW via AM Italia,
1323 kHz, fair into UTwente, on timer recording. Next:

2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
0030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
2030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975.

As a noncommercial service, financial support welcome such as a
contribution via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: ?
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 17525, Oct 29 at 2159, WMLK still going with DEJOM, S9+30/40
if really of the back, direct, presumably about to close for laborious
retune to 9275 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1060, Oct 29 at 0640 UT tune-in, ID as ``The music you grew
up with, WQNZ? 1060 and 93.5 FM``, more mentions of WQNZ? and area
code 931. NO, per NRC AM Log, it is really WQMV, Waverly TN, 4 WATTS
at night, 1000 daypower, U1 non-direxional. Waverly is west of
Nashville, about halfway to Arkansas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. ``Glenn, regarding 1540 kHz: KGBC is now running a Spanish
language Tropical music format branded as ?Power 105.3?.? The station
was recently off the air for a few days, but is back now.? KGBC is
nominally the originating station for translator K287BQ in Houston.
KGBC is audible at my NW Harris County location during the day, but no
usable night reception as it is lost in the co-channel pileup on the
frequency. Stephen Luce, Houston, Texas``

Stephen, Tnx for info. I could not match programming to skewed
frequency but can you tell if it`s about 1539.95 in the daytime?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7570, Oct 29 at 2217, JBA carrier direct; could WRMI be
attempting a comeback? But at 2241 into Maryland SDR, no broadcast
audio, just dittering. EiBi reminds us 7570 could be Canadian HF
trading ute, or V. of Korea. 9455 WRMI remains silent (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 21460.05 approx., Oct 29 at 2208 JBA USB, sounds like
ham QSO in English, maybe two stations; hams out of band, or spurs?
Hardly necessary with very little occupancy below 21450 tho surely
propagable if 28 MHz is (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

This report dispatched at 2315? UT October 29
